Matawan officials approve meeting dates for disability commission

MATAWAN–The Borough Council approved a resolution establishing the Disability Accessibility Commission’s dates for 2020.

The ordinance 12-18 established the borough’s Disability Accessibility Committee to ensure for continued compliance with the American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) for all borough public buildings and properties, and to make recommendations on any various policies, issues, needs and future of said buildings, properties and projects, according to the council agenda.

The council approved the resolution during the borough’s annual reorganization meeting on Jan. 1 at the Matawan Municipal Community Center.

Ordinance 12-18 designates the second Monday in January for the committee’s reorganization and at such time they may review the following dates for their quarterly meetings.

The commission’s meetings will be named and held at 4 p.m. at the Matawan Municipal Community Center, located at 201 Broad St.

Meetings will be open to the public and are scheduled on the following dates: Jan. 13, May 11, Sept. 14 and Dec. 14.
