Old Bridge fatal motorcycle crash under investigation

Police are investigating a motorcycle fatality in Old Bridge in which the passenger was killed on July 16.

The identity of the female victim, who was pronounced deceased at the scene, is not being released pending notification to the family, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief William Volkert of the Old Bridge Police Department said in a joint statement on July 17.

The crash is being investigation by Patrolman Henry Penley of the Old Bridge Police Department and Detective Erik Larsen of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

The preliminary investigation has determined that on July 16 at approximately 11:50 p.m., a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling on Route 35 north in the vicinity of Industrial Drive, when it lost control, causing the two occupants to be ejected, according to the statement. 

The driver was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick to be treated for his injuries and the passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene.
