Each year, on the third Wednesday of September, ShopRite stores throughout the Northeast celebrate ShopRite Partners In Caring Help Bag Hunger Day. It’s a storewide event that invites local dignitaries to join ShopRite associates at the checkout counter.
Though Hillsborough Township didn’t participate in 2020 due to COVID concerns, this year Mayor Shawn Lipani, pictured, and members of the Hillsborough Township Police and Social Services departments welcomed guests, donned aprons, and bagged groceries on Sept. 15 to bring awareness to the issue of hunger in the community.
