Hillsborough man suffers minor injuries after trying to put out fire at residence

Fire does not appear suspicious

A Robin Road resident suffered minor injuries after a structure fire at his apartment April 13, according to the Hillsborough Township Police Department.

Poice and fire responded to the fire at approximately 2:34 p.m. Arriving units discovered that the porch of the unit was on fire and observed visible flames inside the residence through the second story sliding door. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire.

The resident sustained minor injuries as a result of attempting to extinguish the fire but refused medical attention. The fire is not considered suspicious but remains under the investigation of the Hillsborough Township Police Department and the Hillsborough Township Bureau of Fire Safety.

The resident was displaced as a result of the fire and neighboring residents were also displaced due to water damage.

Hillsborough Fire Marshalls, Hillsborough Fire Units 36, 37, 38, Hillsborough Township Office of Emergency Management, Millstone Valley Fire Unit 28, Robert Wood Johnson Emergency Medical Services, and the Hillsborough Township Building and Health departments also responded to the fire.
