The Lawrence Township Council has awarded a contract for $17,340 to an engineering firm to design improvements to Mill Road, off Franklin Corner Road.
Mill Road is a one-lane road that loops behind homes and businesses that have frontage on the south side of Franklin Corner Road. Part of the road is paved and part of it is unpaved and rutted.
Remington & Vernick Engineers, which is based in Cherry Hill, will prepare a concept plan for improvements to Mill Road. It will conduct a detailed location and topographic survey of the street.
A tributary to the Little Shabakunk Creek is located next to – or possibly within – the existing right-of-way of Mill Road. The concept plan will be submitted to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection to determine the required environmentat permits required for the project, if any.
