Hazardous waste will be collected May 20

The Middlesex County Division of Highways will hold a Household Hazardous Waste Dropoff Day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 20 on Apple Orchard Lane, North Brunswick.

This service is provided for Middlesex County residents only.

Acceptable items include adhesives, aerosol cans, anti-freeze, brake fluid, car batteries, cleaners, drain cleaners, fluorescent bulbs, gasoline, gas/oil mix, kerosene, lighter fluid, mercury, motor oil/filters, latex/oil paints, paint thinner, pesticides/herbicides, photographic chemicals, pool chemicals, propane tanks, stains/varnishes, thermometers, thermostats, and rechargeable and button cell batteries.

Non-acceptable items include appliances, furniture, electronics, empty containers, explosives and munitions, infectious/medical waste, smoke detectors and tires.
