The Janice Garbolino Memorial 5K Run/Walk in memory of Janice Garbolino, the former Health and Wellness director of the Metuchen Branch YMCA, who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2002, will be held at 8:30 a.m., Sept. 23, at Lakeview School, 10 Oak Drive, in Roosevelt Park, Edison.
Registration of $30 will be accepted in advance online at www.ymcaofmewsa.org/5K until 12 p.m. on September 22.
Participants can register the morning of the event, from 7:30-8:15 a.m. at Lakeview School in Roosevelt Park, the location of the start and finish of the 5K. The fee will be $40 per person on the day of the event.
Funds will benefit the LiveSTRONG Program at the YMCA. In 2009, the YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge and South Amboy began the LiveSTRONG Program, a physical activity and well-being program designed to help adult cancer survivors reclaim their total health.
