NORTH BRUNSWICK – Gloria Zastko, Realtors honored 35 seniors from North Brunswick Township High School (NBTHS) during its third annual Citizenship Recognition Breakfast.
The Citizenship Award was established by the NBTHS community to recognize students who inspire school spirit, promote respect, foster school and community volunteerism, and represent students who follow the school guidelines and conduct themselves appropriately, which goes unnoticed.
The award is named after Gloria Zastko, who promoted the educational values by supporting the school.
“My mother, Gloria, had been an advocate for the North Brunswick school system throughout her business career,” Andrew Zastko, broker-owner of the real estate firm, said during the breakfast on June 5. “She had always felt that education is the key to success and opens up many possibilities. Gloria has always believed in giving back to the community and had contributed to many community and school fundraisers, including sponsoring the Teacher Who Makes a Difference Award,” Zastko said.
For the past 28 years, Gloria Zastko, Realtors has sponsored the Scholarship for a Student Excelling in Business, which is an annual scholarship awarded to a graduating senior. Students were nominated by their teachers, counselors and school leadership team.
“The Gloria Zastko Citizenship Award is truly a reflection upon [my mother’s] beliefs and desires to do what is right and beneficial in serving the people of the community,” Zastko said. “Our agency continues to support Gloria’s goals and aspirations servicing our community and schools.”
