NORTH BRUNSWICK – Pet owners will soon have a place to honor their fur babies after their passing.

A pet scattering garden will be located near the community garden by the dog park at Community Park on Route 130 in North Brunswick, according to Lou Ann Benson, director of the North Brunswick Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services.

“It is more or less a reflection area you can sit at after you’ve lost your pet,” Benson said during the June 25 Township Council meeting.

Rules and regulations will be posted.

Owners may be able to place their pet’s name on a plate on a boulder in memoriam.

“It’s really a nice, quiet spot right in Community Park,” Benson said.

The expected completion date was June 29.

Further details, as well as a grand opening ceremony, will be announced at a later date.
