Cranbury residents interested in reducing, reusing, up-cycling or decluttering items in the home are invited to participate, free of charge, in the spring town-wide garage sale.
This year’s event is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 30. Rain date for the event will be Sunday, May 1, at 9 a.m.
This event is sponsored by Callaway Henderson Sotheby’s International Realty, 39 North Main Street, Cranbury. To register your address as a participating garage sale site, call 609-395-0444 or stop by the office.
A list/map of participants will be generated and available for the attendees. After participation in the event, people can donate usable goods/items to a tax deductible organization.
Contact information for three organizations that offer pick-up service, address specific, is listed, or feel free to donate to a charity of one’s choice: Lupus Foundation of America; call 1-888-445-8787 or www.lupuspickup.org; Rescue Mission of Trenton: call 1-800-528-8825 or www.rmtrenton.org. Usable and unusable clothing, blankets, towels and linens (year round) will be accepted. No household items or rugs; Vietnam Veterans of America; call 1-800-775-8387 or www.scheduleapickup.com.
If you schedule a donation pick up, adhere to the protocol as specified by that organization. Do not donate items that are broken, dirty, missing parts or cannot be reused.
Residents not participating in the town-wide garage sale but wish to de-clutter, two of the three organizations can take usable household items away for you. The Rescue Mission accepts usable and unusable clothes, blankets, towels, and linens. You must call to schedule a pick-up.
Clean-up weekend is scheduled for May 14-15. For more information, call Linda at 395-0900, ext. 229.
