The Cranbury Historical and Preservation Society hosted a panel discussion June 5 at the Cranbury Museum titled, “When We Were Young: Shopping Along Cranbury’s Main Street.” Judson Hagerty, Marie Cottrell Perrine, Phil Moody, Paul Lindenfeld, George Nikitiades, Gay Ingegneri, Eileen McGillan and Christine Thompson represented Main Street businesses, sharing their memories and family stories. Peggy Brennan and JoD Andrews, who grew up in Cranbury, shared their personal experiences of shopping on Main Street. After a lively discussion, the audience was invited to participate. The panel was moderated by Peter Wise and about 35 people attended the event, which complemented the current Cranbury Museum exhibit, “Merchants of Main Street: A Stroll through the Shoppes of Cranbury.” The exhibit, curated by Karen Kelley and Lisa Beach, is open every Sunday through August.
