RED BANK – Mayor Pasquale Menna has said “Little Silver’s loss is our gain” after Taylor Doremus was sworn in as a police officer in Red Bank.

“It’s a wonderful homecoming for the Doremus family and for the Red Bank Police Department,” Menna said. Doremus previously served as a police officer in Little Silver and as a dispatcher in Red Bank.

In her remarks, Councilwoman Kate Triggiano, liaison to the police department, said “We all know that Taylor grew up here, this is his hometown … There is nothing better than having someone serve where they are from. They know the place and people the best.

“I can’t stop for ten seconds on the street without someone saying ‘(Taylor) is a good hire. It’s good you got him back’ … Congratulations and we look forward to you serving a great career in Red Bank,” Triggiano said.

Menna administered the oath of office to Doremus. Doremus was surrounded by friends and family during the ceremony.
