“Pink Night,” a program in which the Middlesex County College (MCC) and Ocean County College basketball teams support cancer awareness each year, was held at MCC in Edison on Jan. 23. The teams from both schools wore special warm-up t-shirts and members of the MCC volleyball and softball teams organized a bake sale and collected donations, which were used by MCC nursing students to buy chemotherapy kits for patients undergoing cancer treatments at area hospitals. Before the women’s game, MCC President Mark McCormick, center, officiated a ceremonial tip-off; he is flanked by MCC forward Gabriela Agosto, left, and Ocean’s Shaunna Bruker. MCC won both games, 94-91 (women) and 91-80 (men).
