WOODBRIDGE – The number of positive COVID-19 cases continue to fluctuate day to day in the township.

Woodbridge officials reported 42 new positive COVID-19 cases, which brings the total number of cases to 974, said Mayor John McCormac in his daily report on April 21.

“[The new number of cases] is slightly above our average for the last 10 days of 34, but still a far cry from our worst days which were double that,” he said.

McCormac said statistics show the disease is not only for elderly people with the average age of township cases just below 50 years old. The cases are split about evenly between males and females.

The physical locations of the coronavirus continue to be spread all over town with no concentration in any one area. The township numbers still trail the state numbers on a per capita basis.

McCormac, in his report, said the township will continue to post federal, county and state information about new regulations and grant and loan programs to the township’s website. He added they are in constant contact with federal, state and county administrators and elected officials.

The mayor recognized employees from the township Health and Senior Services Department from Director Dennis Green and his team on health issues and Phil Bujalski and his team checking in on township businesses to Michelle Morgan and her team making sure homebound seniors get the attention they need.

The mayor continues to urge neighbors to check on people who live alone and cannot leave their homes.
