Sustainable Princeton has postponed its planned webinar on how to choose an electric vehicle, set for Aug. 5, while Princeton cleans up after Tropical Storm Isaias, which knocked out electricity and toppled trees throughout the town.

No date has been set for “Ask An Expert about EVs – How to Choose, Charge and Change.” The webinar would have featured Eve Gabel-Frank of Gabel Associates and Tom Muloughney, a former director of Plug In America, in a discussion about electric vehicles.

Tropical Storm Isaisas barreled through Princeton Aug. 4 and left a trail of downed electric wires and trees in its wake.

As of mid-afternoon Aug. 5, trees were still blocking S. Harrison Street near Southern Way, Davies Drive, Alexander Road north of the roundabout, Walker Drive, Province Line Road near Pheasant Hill Road, and Pretty Brook Road near the Pretty Brook Tennis Club, Princeton officials said.

Electric and Verizon wires were still down in various parts of town, including Riverside Drive near Adams Drive, Turner Court, N. Harrison Street at its intersections with Valley Road and Terhune Road, Cleveland Lane, Stuart Road, Laurel Road, Grover Avenue, and Hamilton Avenue near Snowden Lane, Princeton officials said.

Traffic signals on N. Harrison Street were out of commission along its length between Nassau Street and Mount Lucas Road.

Fallen trees were suspended over electric wires and Verizon wires along many streets, including Rosedale Road, Herrontown Road, Riverside Drive at Prospect Avenue, and Snowden Lane at Herrowntown Road.
