Alborada is excited to announce it’s first in person, public performance since the quarantine!
Alborada’s critically dancers and musicians will debut several new works as well as several restaged works from our repertoire, including, the elegant Caracoles, an homage to the great Maria Alba, Alborada’s founding director. Guest artist, critically acclaimed visual artist, Libby Ramage, will debut a unique work with Alborada’s principal dancer, Lisa Botalico, weaving live painting and dance in a dramatic work inspired by the great Spanish poet, Frederico Garcia Lorca’s poem Anda Jaleo. The program will also feature classical Spanish dances, including Sevillanas Rocieras and Bach por Flamenco, a fusion of Bach’s Fugue No. 2 from the Well Tempered Clavier with Tangos Flamencos. In compliance with social distancing protocols, the program will feature small ensembles and powerful flamenco solos performed by Alborada’s principal dancers and musicians.
