Hopewell bicyclist dies days after being struck by vehicle

A bicyclist who was struck by a car at the intersection of East Broad Street and Princeton Avenue in Hopewell Borough on May 13 has died, according to the Hopewell Township Police Department.

Susan Waskow, 59, was riding her bicycle east on East Broad Street when she was struck by a 2015 Kia Sedona that was traveling west on East Broad Street as the motorist attempted to make a left turn onto Princeton Avenue, police said.

Waskow, who lived in Hopewell, was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton by the Hopewell Rescue Squad and Capital Health paramedics. She suffered serious injuries in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Hopewell Township Police Department and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.  Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Detective Adam Liotta at 609-737-3100, ext. 5460.
