Hillsborough police K9 retires from service

Freddy, a faithful K9 who served the Hillsborough community for three years, has retired.
Freddy, a Belgian Malinois, was partnered with K9 Officer Rick Tichenor in 2018 and remained at his side during his tenure at the Hillsborough Police Department, according to information provided by the township.
Freddy assisted in numerous narcotics arrests and also helped to locate fleeing suspects and missing children, and aided in evidence recovery, according to the statement.
