Somerset County doesn’t have a Chamber of Commerce, it has the Somerset County Business Partnership (SCBP).

“No matter if you are a small business owner or part of a larger organization, there is something SCBP can do for everyone,” Chris Edwards, president and CEO, said in a prepared statement. “I want everyone to walk away with some benefit – whether they are a member or not.”

SCBP works to support its members – 800 and growing – and the larger community through business advocacy, by offering and sharing access to information, by promoting the county’s tourism industry, and by hosting events and networking opportunities – with over 241 programs being planned and hosted during the pandemic alone, according to the statement.

On Sept. 15 at 7 p.m., the Somerset County Library System New Jersey will host a virtual program featuring Edwards, which will allow the public time and space to learn more about SCBP, as well as ask questions about future county-wide initiatives.

“In early September, we will be launching a new initiative: Why Somerset County,” Edwards said in the statement. “The initiative is geared toward businesses moving to Somerset County or employees new to this area – we will be able to share all the reasons why moving to Somerset County was, and is, the best choice. We will also be working hard to further convince current businesses of the value in staying right here in this amazing county.”
