A Coach bag and a Coach wallet were reportedly stolen from a car parked at Skillman Park Feb. 8 in a smash-and-grab burglary and theft. The victim discovered the front passenger window had been smashed and the bag and wallet were missing when she returned to her car after a run in the park.

A 17-year-old Skillman resident whose car ran off the road and struck a utility pole on Hollow Road, near Grandview Road, was issued summonses for careless driving and using a cell phone while driving Feb. 11. The vehicle was towed from the scene. The driver will appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

The Mr. Tire store at the Princeton North Shopping Center on Route 206 was evacuated after a carbon monoxide detector was activated Feb. 9. Firefighters checked the store and detected carbon monoxide in the store and in an adjacent business that was not occupied. Firefighters ventilated the businesses. The initial investigation traced the source of the carbon monoxide to a possibly faulty heating unit. There were no injuries or illnesses reported.

A 75-year-old Skillman man was issued a summons for improper exiting a private driveway after his Honda Fit collided with a Jeep Grand Cherokee belonging to a Hillsborough Township woman as he was attempting to turn left from a driveway on Route 206 Feb. 8. His car struck the sport utility vehicle that was traveling south on Route 206. Both drivers suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene by Montgomery Township EMS. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The Skillman resident is slated to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

The driver of a white four-door sedan who was involved in a hit-and-run crash on Route 206 at Orchard Road Feb. 8 is being sought by police. The driver made an improper turn from Route 206 South onto Orchard Road and struck another vehicle. He got out of his car and checked for damage, and then got back into his car and drove away without stopping to speak to the other driver, according to police reports.
