Peak Projects is sponsoring a “Run the Hook” 5k/10k at 10 a.m. on May 14 at Sandy Hook’s Guardian Park on Hartshorne Drive, Highlands.

The race challenges runners and walkers of all abilities to run in support of Clean Ocean Action, a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to restoring, improving and protecting the water quality of New Jersey’s oceans. A portion of the proceeds from the race will go directly to the charity.

All registered runners will receive a T-shirt and finisher gift. The race will feature a closed scenic course at Sandy Hook National Park, chip timed results and access to the after party.

“All waters run to the sea, and now you can run to help keep it wild and free from pollution. ‘Run the Hook’ is the perfect way to celebrate good health for you and the ocean,” said Cindy Zipf, executive director of Clean Ocean Action. “This year’s run is truly a family opportunity. Bring your Mom to walk or run and together you can make it a Mother’s Day with Mother Ocean on beautiful Sandy Hook. We are so thrilled and honored to be a beneficiary of this great event.”

Entry fees are $29.95 or $44.95. For more information or to register, visit eventbrite.com.
