Boston-based Bees Deluxe, a British/American acid blues band, is set to make their debut appearance at The Lizzie Rose Music Room in Tuckerton, New Jersey on May 27th, at 7:30 pm. Fans of the group can grab their tickets now for what promises to be a legendary performance at the 217 East Main Street venue, which is known for its “listening” room setup, making it perfect for an unforgettable musical experience.

Bees Deluxe is a modern four-piece blues band that honors the music of legendary artists such as Billie Holiday, Etta James, Albert Collins, Robert Cray, Tinsley Ellis, Freddie King, and Roomful of Blues. With respect and a dash of hot sauce, they blend the blues with jazz, rock, funk, and soul to deliver a unique sound that has received positive reviews across Maine to Florida and everywhere in between.

Blues Blast Magazine describes the group as “what might happen if Freddie King took a lot of acid then wrote a song with Pat Metheny and asked a strung-out Stevie Ray Vaughan to take a solo.” The band has played with Ronnie Earl, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Matt Schofield, Roomful of Blues, Walter Trout, and David Maxwell.

The band’s four-piece lineup is led by British guitarist Conrad Warre and Carol Band, who handles the keyboards, harmonica, and vocals. Jim Gildea provides the bass and vocals, while Paul Giovine handles the drums and percussion. Each musician brings their own experience to the stage, with Band recruited from jazz bands playing the Boston circuit, notably Ryles Jazz Club in Cambridge. Giovine was discovered by the band playing rock and roll in a slew of punk rock clubs in New England, and Gildea was drafted to Bees Deluxe by Giovine after sharing the stage with him at several country-bro festivals. Warre, who was in a high-school band in London with Paul Kossoff of the band Free, migrated from London to New York, where he became a regular performer at the legendary CBGB’s. In Boston, he founded Bees Deluxe, to pay homage to the music he fell in love with while touring and playing legendary London clubs like the Rainbow Theatre, Ronnie Scott’s, Dingwalls, The Music Machine, and the Moonlight Club.

The band is known for exuding contagious enthusiasm at every performance, pushing the limits of the blues, coloring outside the lines of convention, and doing it with impeccable musicality, originality, and a touch of insanity. “Solid vocals surrounded by a tight band, and check out the tones he gets out of his guitar; this cat can play,” says A.J. Wachtel, describing the group’s performances.

The Lizzie Rose Music Room is known for hosting legendary performances, and Bees Deluxe’s debut show promises to be an unforgettable experience. Attendees are encouraged to come early and secure their spot for what promises to be a night to remember. The live music starts at 7:30 pm, with tickets available at https://www.lizzierosemusic.com.
