Continuing the Steinway Society’s 30th anniversary season is pianist Charl Louw performing Bach and Beethoven.
Active as a soloist and collaborative pianist, Dr. Louw has appeared in recitals and with orchestras in the United States and South Africa. As a founding member and pianist-in-residence of the Midwest Chamber Ensemble, Louw has performed extensively with singers and instrumentalists in chamber music concert series. As pianist of the Filamental Trio, Louw collaborated with clarinetist Sharra Wagner and bassoonist Ryan Morris in a recording project of newly commissioned repertoire by award-winning composers from Kansas City.
He has been a finalist and top-prize winner in national and international piano competitions and the recipient of prestigious awards in both performing and teaching, including the Kauffman Award (University of Missouri) and the Gertrude Buchanan Award (University of South Africa).
Dr. Louw is currently on the faculties of The New School for Music Study and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and also serves as the MMTA Collegiate Honors Auditions Chair. He has presented lectures and master classes in South Africa and the United States and completed his Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
Admission to this concert is $20 for individual nonmembers and $10 for full-time student nonmembers. The box office opens at Jacobs Music 30 minutes before each concert. Seating is limited, so please arrive early to assure a seat.
The Greater Princeton Steinway Society’s 30th Anniversary Season
Founded in 1989, The Greater Princeton Steinway Society is dedicated to developing the talent of young piano students. The musicales (concerts), presented by prominent musicians, support the annual scholarship program.
Interested supporters are invited to become a member of our society. Individual Membership is $50; Family Membership is $85. Memberships include free admission to all five musicales plus the musicale featuring the scholarship winners in April.
