La Convivencia and First United Methodist Church of Hightstown are hosting the 3rd annual “MLK Day of Service and A Community Dialogue”. The MLK Day of Service is an opportunity to learn about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s dreams and his legacy. Join us for this free community-building event with your family and friends to make Dr. King’s dreams into a reality.
After the service project, there will be a community conversation.
“Love that Transforms in an Age of Divisions”
Panelist: Rev. Stephen Bryant, pastor of the African Methodist Church of Hightstown; Rukayat Yakub; Rev. Bill Neely, Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton
Students can earn volunteer hour certificates. Also, students are encouraged to be a part of the conversation!
Activities for the whole family:
- ‘I Have a Dream’ poster station (for all)
- Assemble care items to benefit RISE’s families
- Coloring station (for small children)
- ‘I Have a Dream’ video station (for teens)
