Despite initial problems with Austrian censors who controlled Northern Italian theaters in the19th century, the opera had a triumphant premiere at La Fenice in Venice.

Dorothea’s House is located at 120 John Street in Princeton. Doors open for the presentation at 4:45 p.m.; the lecture is free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to bring refreshments to share at the reception following the program.
