VIRTUAL BOOK CLUB: Black Americans, Jewish Americans: Racial and Ethnic "Passing" in Literature and the Struggle to Belong

In this two-part virtual book club, Professor Donavan Ramon (Southern Illinois University Edwardsville) will guide participants in a discussion of key themes in The Human Stain by Philip Roth and Passing by Nella Larsen, as well as comparisons between the two novels. The first session, on June 5, will focus on The Human Stain. The second session, on June 26, will focus on Passing. The event is presented by the Allen and Joan Bildner Center for the Study of Jewish Life at Rutgers University.
