With “I Dream a World”, Voices Chorale NJ is excited to present its first live and live-streamed concert since December 2019.

Under the direction of Dr. David A. McConnell, Artistic Director, this concert is especially designed to explore diverse music that brings people of different beliefs, traditions, and tastes together. It includes various holiday music along with other joyous sounds to soothe the soul after a long time apart.

“I Dream a World” by Joan Szymko is based on Langston Hughes’ poem which  imagins a world “where love will bless the earth and peace its paths adorn”.  Among other pieces on the program: “Sing Gently” by Eric Whitacre, written to bring comfort to those who need it;  “Where Riches is Everlastingly” by Bob Chilcott, an upbeat arrangement of a 16th century carol; “Little Tree” by E.E. Cummings which reflects the childlike excitement of dressing the Christmas tree, and “Eight Days of Light”  by Judith Clurman honoring the Hanukkah celebration.

Singers and audience members will wear masks. For those who cannot join us in person, a streaming option is available.
