Most people suffering from constipation would never think about how helpful visiting a chiropractor can be for their digestive function. However, if you are suffering from constipation, a chiropractor may be the very person you want to see.

Constipation is a condition where individuals have difficulty emptying their bowels. A number of different causes may be responsible for chronic constipation, such as poor diet, pathology (bowel obstruction), and improper energy flow to the digestive tract.

Constipated? Chiropractic care can help

Since 1979, I have helped patients suffering with constipation.   By evaluating how well your digestive system is working, along with a review of what you are eating, it’s a more natural, comprehensive method to restoring and maintaining your ability to eliminate waste. Patients have less intestinal distress and appreciate their personalized recommendations designed to help their digestive tract function much better.

Are you tired of trying at-home constipation remedies or relying on medications to have bowel movements? A chiropractic checkup and care plan may be able to help. Here’s what you need to know about the benefits of chiropractic care for constipation:

  1. Nerve interference could be sabotaging your bowel function. Since I began caring for patients in 1979, many of my patients who originally sought chiropractic care for relief of lower back pain have reported improvement in their ability to have normal bowel movements. How does this happen? Energy pulsing over the nerves that come from the spine in the lower back also carry energy to the lower digestive tract. Any impairment of this energy flow can negatively impact the back muscles, as well as peristalsis, a series of wave-like muscular contractions that move food through the digestive tract. Nerve interference can alter the rhythm and strength of these muscular contractions, impairing how well the digestive system moves food through — and waste out  of — your body. Relieving pressure on the nerves improves overall body function and health, including the digestive system.
  2. Dietary changes can improve your digestive health. There’s more to chiropractic care than just adjusting the spine to alleviate nerve interference. I provide comprehensive and complementary care services that include nutritional counseling, purification programs for excess toxicity, and weight loss. Even if nerve interference is the primary cause for your constipation, dietary changes may also be able to help you. A nutritional consultation and dietary workup can help identify unhealthy eating patterns that are exacerbating your constipation and robbing your body of the energy you need to live a full, happy and productive life.

If you are struggling with constipation, don’t suffer in silence. Schedule your chiropractic checkup today.
