Blue Dragons roll to win
In their seventh game of the season, the East Windsor Blue Dragons played the fast Hazlet Heat where the score went back and forth, but ultimately the Dragons prevailed on Friday, May 20, to win 3-2.
Hazlet scored the first goal early in a scramble downfield and a rugby-style scrum in front of goalie Dylan Stables. The teams traded breakaway runs and Stables made a flying, full-body block to deny Hazlet its second score.

Minutes later, Stables blocked another Hazlet shot. East Windsor rebounded down the field with Zachary Banegas passing to Alexander Garcia for a well-placed shot that arched over the keeper’s head into the high corner of the net to make it 2-1 at the end of the first half.
Jayden Baffoe-Bonnie played in goal the second half and Hazlet broke through and scored again to tie the game at 2-2. The Blue Dragons tightened their defense and controlled the ball the rest of the game with several attempts at a goal. Lionel Aguilar, Eydan Coronel, and Jace Feyas managed to keep the Heat down with their impressive defensive plays. Finally, with a minute left to play, Alexander Garcia managed to outpace all the defenders and got his third goal of game making it a hat trick for the striker.
