Kids Karate Class Demo from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Hightstown Memorial Library, 114 Franklin St. in Hightstown. Children ages 3-12 can learn basic karate moves with Master Brooks from CMBKarate. Registration not required. 
Sun., Sept. 25 
An interfaith dialogue on the message of Bishop Pierre Claverie will be held at 7 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 251 Franklin St., Hightstown. Religious and lay speakers will include the Rev. Patrick McDonnell, Lenore Islieb, Imam Sohaib Sultan, Jana Hussain, Rabbi Eric Wisnia and Anne Berman Waldorf. The event is sponsored by the St. Anthony Social Justice Committee.
An exhibit featuring more than four hundred pieces of 20th Century costume jewelry will be available for viewing from 1 to 4 p.m. at Cranbury Museum, 4 Park Place East. Famous makers such as Trifari, Weiss, Danecraft, Coro, Marcel Boucher, Sarah Coventry, Carolee, Napier, Hollycraft, Kramer, Florenza, Monet and Christian Dior are included in the collection. Pearls, rhinestones, cameos, mother of pearl, Bakelite and marcasite are represented, along with more than 75 Christmas pins. 
Mon., Sept. 26 
Preschool Art Class with Mrs. Mehta from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hightstown Memorial Library, 114 Franklin St. in Hightstown. Children ages 2-6 will learn drawing & painting techniques from local art instructor Mrs. Mehta. Registration not required.
Paint & Pencil Family Art with Miss Barbara from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Hightstown Memorial Library, 114 Franklin St. in Hightstown. For all ages. Our resident artist, Miss Barbara, will help you express your creativity by drawing in pencil or painting in watercolors (even if you’ve never before picked up a brush). No registration necessary. 

Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield’s Blue to You Van is coming to the Hickory Corner Branch, Mercer County Library System, 138 Hickory Corner Drive, East Windsor from 10 a.m. to noon. Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey will provide information about all aspects of healthcare including Medicare, NJ Family Care and the Affordable Care Act. Stop by and have a health professional check your cholesterol and glucose levels. You do not have to be a member of BCBS to take advantage of these free screenings. No appointment necessary.

The Camden-Amboy Railroad in History, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hightstown Memorial Library, 114 Franklin St. in Hightstown. Join us for a talk about a key part of Hightstown history. John Kilbride will provide an overview of the northern portion of the railroad extending from Bordentown to South Amboy, including the Trenton to New Brunswick route and Princeton branch. The mobile service center will be in the Plumsted Library parking lot. Services provided: senior and veteran services, consumer affairs, voter registration and park and tourism info. (Fees are required for some services.)
The Robbinsville Hamilton Rotary Club’s annual Art Auction & Silent Auction will be held at the Nottingham Ballroom, 200 Mercer Street, Hamilton Square. Preview begins at 6:30 p.m. and the live auction starts at 7:30 p.m. featuring framed fine art in all media and price ranges. Valuable gift baskets, gift certificates and other donated silent auction items will be available to bid on as well. Major credit cards will be accepted for art purchases. The $10 admission includes light fare, hors d’oeuvres and refreshments sponsored by Killarney’s Publick House. A Red Cross blood drive with Hightstown K of C #6284 will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct 29, at the First Aid squad in Hightstown, 168 Bank St. You can sign up to donate online at www.redcrossblood.org. Enter sponsor code KofC6284. The Hightstown K of C #6284 has been hosting Red Cross blood drives for more than 10 years and has collected more than 1,000 blood donations. Please donate blood if you are able to Every blood donation will save three lives. 

The Hightstown High School After Prom Committee is planning its Bingo fundraising event at the Hightstown High School cafeteria, 25 Leshin Lane, Hightstown. Doors open at 6 p.m. and Bingo will be played from 7 to 10 p.m. Admission for the event, for ages 18 and over, is $25, which includes four cards/15 games, light snacks and beverages. Additional boards will be available for purchase and there will be a 50/50 raffle. Proceeds will benefit the 2017 Hightstown High School after-prom event. 

Spinning Yarns Craft Circle: This club meets the first and third Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. in the Cranbury Public Library at 23 N. Main St. in Cranbury.
