We regret to announce the passing of Edward R. Slome, 86, of Matawan, on Dec. 7.
Ed is survived by his three children: Carolyn and Steve Gorden of Old Bridge, Steven and Miriam Slome of Matawan and Jeffrey and Carmen Slome of Mahwah.
He had seven grandchildren and a new great-granddaughter born on Dec. 5, 2016.
Ed was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, was in the retail hardware business most of his working life, and had finished his working years at Mercer County Parks Golf Course Park Management.
Ed loved to travel, had a voracious reading appetite, loved cross-word puzzles, and best of all, was known for his story and joke telling. He will be greatly missed by his entire family.
