Center Players will present an original family friendly musical, “Doodle – All American Sing Along” at Center Playhouse, 35 South St., Freehold Borough, from June 16-25.

Directed by Leslie Hochman, “Doodle” is the story of the town of Dependence which is planning its annual Fourth of July celebration. Doodle Dandy feels that the residents have forgotten the real meaning of the holiday and are only concerned with having a good time and a day off, according to a press release.

With the help of Elliot, the bald headed eagle, and a special friend from a foreign land, the town of Dependence is shown the true meaning of the holiday. “Doodle” was written by Hochman, with Marie Dionisio Fiorello, and features a cast of 13 local adults and children and many popular patriotic songs.

“It has been a pleasure directing this talented cast of all ages that has been working hard to bring the show’s patriotic messages and spirit to life,” Hochman said. “I’m sure children and adults alike will enjoy the rousing music and story.”

Performances will take place on June 16 at 8 p.m., June 17 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., June 23 at 8 p.m., June 24 at 8 p.m. and June 25 at 2 p.m. Tickets are priced at $12 to $16 (plus $2 service fee per ticket) and are available online at www.centerplayers.org or by calling 732-462-9093.
