Gerhard Puchner, M.D., of Washington Crossing, PA and Abersee, Austria, died on Thursday, September 14 at the age of 87. Born in Schwanenstadt, Austria, Gerhard was a former resident of Princeton, NJ.
Gerhard was a graduate of Graz University and the University of Vienna where he obtained his medical degree. He practiced plastic and reconstructive surgery in Princeton NJ.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, the Austrian alps and will be remembered for his generosity and love of the simple things in life.
Gerhard was the son of the late Karl Fritz Puchner, M.D. and Seraphine Zeman Puchner, M.D. and the loving husband of Cindy. He was the proud father of Heidi and her husband Fawad Malik, M.D. and their children Iman and Aydin. Gerhard is also survived by his step children, Michael Miller, M.D., his wife Susan and their son Jack, David Miller, Eve Murto and Tod Murto and his children Saylor, Caroline and Noah. He was the brother of Gretl (Otto) Hampl, Herbert (Dorle), Manfred (Hanni), Hertha (Walter) Lukas and Gerlinda wife of the late Karl Puchner, M.D. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gerhard’s name may be made to The Nature Conservancy at support.nature.org.
