Marie M. O’Mara, 84

Marie M. O’Mara, 84, administrative assistant, homemaker, and volunteer, formerly of Parsippany, NJ, passed away on January 1, 2018 at Robert University Hospital, Hamilton, NJ following complications from respiratory failure. 
 
Family and friends may call on Saturday, January 20, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. David the King R.C. Church, 1 New Village Rd., Princeton Junction, N.J. 08550. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 20 at 11:00 a.m. and a reception will follow. Interment will follow at a later date at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hopewell Memorial Home in Hopewell, N.J. Visit hopewellmh.com.
 
Marie was born on October 9, 1933 in New York, NY. She graduated from A.J. Demarest High Schoolin Hoboken, N.J. On June 28, 1958, she married Edward M. O’Mara of Staten Island, N.Y. Marie was employed as an administrative assistant in the insurance and financial industries.  After retiring in the early 1990’s,Marie volunteered full-time with her husband Ed in the N.J. Chapter of the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation where she remained active for two decades. Marie and Ed raised their family in Parsippany, N.J., before moving to West Windsor, N.J., Skillman, N.J. and finally to Hamilton, N.J. Marie was most recently a member of St. David the King Catholic Church, Princeton Junction, N.J., where she served as a member of the choir. Marie also enjoyed bridge and mahjong with friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Katherine Marinovich, her husband Edward,and sister Francis. 
 
She is survived by her sisters Agnes (Arthur) Otten, Katherine (Fred) Moebus and Josephine Behan; she is also survived by son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Neeta O’Mara of Skillman; daughter Lynne Makrina O’Mara, and grandchildren, Sean, Evan, and Neena O’Mara,and Theodore and Michael Tkaczevski.
