Freehold Raceway to host fireworks July 3

FREEHOLD – The annual Independence Day concert and fireworks celebration, presented by Freehold Raceway Mall and Downtown Freehold, will be held on July 3 at Freehold Raceway, Route 33 (Park Avenue).

Gates will open at 6 p.m. Live music by the Rock ‘n’ Roll Chorus will begin at 6:30 p.m., to be followed by a performance by Mission Dance from 7-9:15 p.m., according to a press release.

Freehold native Kason Jackson will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” and fireworks will follow. Radio stations WJRZ-FM and WRAT-FM will be on hand to provide patriotic music during the fireworks. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

As a safety precaution, no backpacks, coolers or pets will be permitted, and bags are subject to search. Residents and visitors are encouraged to check the Freehold Borough website at www.freeholdboroughnj.gov for up-to-the-minute information on cancellations due to inclement weather or high wind conditions, according to the press release.

The rain date for the event is July 8. The fireworks are made possible by Freehold Borough, Downtown Freehold, Freehold Raceway Mall, and by the support of sponsors, including Freehold Raceway, which continues to host the event and make it possible, according to the press release.
