Despite rainy skies on Aug. 14, members of the North Brunswick Township Gardening Club enjoyed a Pot Luck Dinner at the Pulda Farm with food grown throughout the season.
More than 30 families gardened at the farm, according to information provided by the North Brunswick Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services, which runs the program.
Director Lou Ann Benson walked the garden with families and a contest was conducted to select the most original, most decorated and most vegetables shared with others.
“Thank you to all our participants who worked so hard during the season on their gardens,” Benson said in the statement. “The stories shared were very interesting.”
She also thanked Mayor Francis ‘Mac’ Womack III and the Township Council for their support.
Benson encouraged first-time gardeners to join the program next season.
“It’s a wonderful way to make new friends, share gardening tips and have the reward of home grown vegetables,” she said in the statement.
After a rainy evening, a rainbow appeared over the 77-acre Pulda Farm.
