While closing the distance on the violator’s vehicle, the patrol car apparently struck a curb, which caused the officer to lose control and ultimately strike a parked car and the residence of 24 Monmouth Road, according to information provided by the Monroe Township Police Department.

Representatives from the Monroe Township Construction Office and PSE&G responded to the scene.

No one inside the residence was injured; however, the home sustained moderate damaged, according to the statement.

The officer was transported to the hospital by Monroe Township First Aid with minor injuries and was released later that evening, police said.

Police had not released information on the violation or the whereabouts of the suspect as of press time.
