During a three-week trial that began on April 9, Middlesex County Assistant Prosecutor Amber Gibbs and Middlesex County Assistant Prosecutor Vanessa Craveiro presented evidence and testimony showing that Davis previously stalked and harassed the victim, who was dating Davis’ ex-girlfriend. On May 14, 2017, Davis entered the home of the victim and fatally shot him, according to the statement.

Davis is facing a prison term of 30 years to life when he is sentenced in New Brunswick on June 27 by Superior Court Judge Colleen Flynn. He will have to serve at least 30 years before being eligible for parole.

He was charged following an investigation by Detective Seeta Jones of the North Brunswick Police Department and Detective David Abromaitis of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police began the investigation after the victim was found in his apartment at 5:15 a.m. on May 14, 2017. He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
