Community members invited to help Chhange celebrate 40th anniversary

The Center for Holocaust, Human Rights and Genocide Education (Chhange) invites all members of the community to attend its 40th anniversary celebration on May 19.

The celebratory brunch will take place from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on the Lincroft campus of Brookdale Community College.

Learn about Chhange through a photographic timeline, interactive memory wall, and personal reflections from Chhange members, educators, students, survivors and volunteers. There will be a buffet brunch, according to a press release.

The 40 Years of Chhange anniversary celebration will take place in the Navesink Rooms in the Warner Student Life Center at Brookdale Community College. Admission is $30 per person for Chhange members, $40 per person for non-members, and $50 per person at the door.

Chhange will hold its seventh annual Golf Classic on June 11. Proceeds from the event will benefit the students, teachers and community programs served by Chhange through its educational programming and services, according to the press release.

This year’s event will be held at Forsgate Country Club, Monroe Township, and will feature a round of golf on the Banks course, a chance to win a vehicle at one of the holes, lunch, a silent auction and a raffle.

Ray Catena Lexus of Freehold will sponsor a hole in one for a chance to win a Lexus, according to the press release.

Since 1979, Chhange has been dedicated to its mission to educate people about the World War II era Holocaust, genocide and human rights issues, and to promote the elimination of racism, anti-Semitism and all forms of prejudice, according to the press release.
