Veterans benefits, services to be topic

The Reformed Church Home senior living community will host “Veterans Benefits and Services,” a seminar for aging veterans and their families, 6 p.m. March 1 at the facility, 1990 Route 18 North, Old Bridge.

Guest speakers will be Gary B. Garland, Esq., of Garland Law Offices, Manalapan, and Glenn A. Freeman of Freeman Funeral Home, Manalapan and Freehold. Topics will include the Aid and Attendance benefit available to veterans to assist with the cost of medical expenses including assisted living and longterm nursing care; expected changes to the benefit and why now may be the best time to apply for it; estate planning for the veteran and his/her surviving spouse; and funeral trusts/Medicaid burial trusts.

The program is free of charge. Registration is required. Light refreshments will be served.
