A section of Route 206 in Princeton will be closed for a week, which will force motorists to  take a detour, the state New Jersey State Department of Transportation has said.

The state said a culvert has to be replaced, so a section of the highway from Hillside Avenue and Arreton Road will be closed to traffic in both ways beginning 9 p.m. on Nov.15 to 6 a.m. on Nov.21. Originally, the closure was to go into effect last week, but it was postponed due to weather.

Motor vehicles traveling north on 206 should go right on Ewing Street, left on Mount Lucas Road and left again on Herrontown Road and back to 206, the state recommended.

Vehicles going south on 206 should go left on Herrontown, right on Mount Lucas and right on Ewing, to 206, the state announced.

Trucks, on the other hand, have to take a different detour, according to the state.

Northbound trucks should go to I-295 north, then to Route 31 north, right on County Road 518 and then to 206, the state reported.

Southbound trucks need to take 518, left to Route 31 south and then I-295 south to Route 206, the state said.
