A Sayreville woman has been indicted for causing the death of her dog by failing to provide food or water for the animal.

Nora L. Seay, 34, was charged on July 23 with causing bodily injury resulting in the death to a living animal by failing to provide necessary care as the owner charged with the care of the animal, according to information provided by Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. The investigation determined that Seay allegedly left her Pomeranian Lady at her residence on Dec. 31, 2018, and failed to come back until the first week of February 2019. There allegedly was not a sufficient amount of food and water left for the dog in order for it to survive during her long absence, according to the statement.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sgt. Daniel Ellmeyer of the Sayreville Police Department at 732727-4444, or Detective Jason Mendelson of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-745- 5948.
