LAWRENCEVILLE: Interfaith Caregivers host discussion on book on Freedom Summer

Interfaith Caregivers of Greater Mercer County will host a book signing and discussion on “Smoke Over Mississippi: A Journey of Hope and Reconciliation“ by author Rev. Dr. Oren Renick from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville, 2668 Main St., Lawrenceville.
The book is about Freedom Summer 1964, the civil rights campaign to register as many black voters in Mississippi as possible. The evening will be moderated by Rev. Jeffrey Vamos of the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville and Rev. Dr. Darrell Larue Armstrong of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Rev. Dr. Oren Renick wrote the story of his mentor, Dr. William Penn Davis.
Books will be available for purchase and the author will sign all copies. Light refreshments will be served. 
