Chivate, Hoffman and McDowell are elected to the Cranbury School’s Board of Education

Pramod Chivate, Laura Hoffman and Lindsay McDowell have each won a seat on  the Cranbury Board of Education.

Chivate and McDowell are incumbents who won re-election and newcomer Hoffman will serve her first term on the board when she is sworn in.

“I am humbled and honored that my community cast votes to elect me,” Hoffman said in a statement. “Serving my community is a privilege and I am looking forward to learning and sharing my experiences as an educator. I feel incredibly blessed that my friends and neighbors trust me to represent them.”

Chivate and McDowell could not be reached for comment.

The three candidates were running unopposed for the three seats. Each seat is a three-year term on the board.

Hoffman received 753 votes, McDowell 731 collected votes and Chivate gained 703 votes.

The election results are unofficial until they are certified by the Mercer County Clerk.

Hoffman, prior to the election, explained to why she decided to run.

“The Cranbury School has been a wonderful place for my daughters. They’ve had such an incredible experience there year-after-year, and I wanted to give back to a school and community that has given so much to my family,” she said. “The faculty, staff and administration have been nothing short of incredible in our time at the Cranbury School. I’m hopeful that my experience in education will be beneficial to the Board and that I can contribute in a positive way.
