WOODBRIDGE – Woodbridge officials report 80 new positive COVID-19 cases, the township’s “worst day so far” within the last 24 hours, which brings total COVID-19 cases to 381, Mayor John McCormac said in his daily report on April 6.
“All of the experts have pointed to this week as likely being the peak in terms of positive tests and our numbers certainly support that,” he said. “We do not have details about all 80 cases yet, but for those we have we still cannot determine any clustering by area of town.”
McCormac said officials continue to encourage residents to avoid all non-essential travel and to practice social distancing.
“Please practice good personal hygiene and please make sure to discard gloves, masks and wipes in the regular trash instead of on the ground or in the sanitary sewer,” he said adding to check on elderly and neighbors who may be alone.
McCormac recognized and thanked Patrick Kenny, the township’s emergency management coordinator, for his efforts and leadership.
“We have not had issues with supplies or equipment and our employees have what they need,” he said. “He has been a steady leader in very difficult times and people in Woodbridge Township are undoubtedly safer thanks to Patrick and his team.”
McCormac, in his report, said children can continue to send art work or other creations they have made while cooped up in the house including photos of families coloring Easter eggs this week.
