Passenger killed in single-car crash

A 50-year-old Trenton man was killed when the 2003 Suzuki Vitara in which he was passenger in struck a utility pole on Brunswick Pike at the Whitehead Road traffic circle at 1:43 a.m. March 28, according to the Lawrence Township Police Department.

The 49-year-old driver of the vehicle, who also lives in Trenton, suffered serious but non-fatal injuries, police said. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. His passenger, who was sitting in the front seat, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is under investigation by the Lawrence Township Police Department and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office’s Serious Collision Response Team.
