English Country Dance was the primary form of social dancing in England and America in the 1600’s, 1700’s and early 1800’s. A movie based on a Jane Austen novel would not be complete without a scene featuring English country dancing. The music and the dances may be lively, boisterous, elegant, romantic, energetic, driving, or stately. Come join the Princeton Country Dancers for an evening of dancing. The dances are taught by a caller, and we always feature live music. Beginners are welcome, and you don’t need to come with a partner.
If you’re a newcomer to English country dancing, we encourage you to come to an Introduction to English Country Dance Basics workshop at 7:30 p.m.
Admission is $11 (or $5-11 for students and people of limited income).
