Explore the Magical World of Fungi and Lichens.
Participants are welcome to bring in wild mushrooms they find in their yards to be identified by New Jersey Mycological Association experts.
Many different interests are showcased at this event including: mushroom identification, toxicology, mushroom dyes for wool, paper making with fungus, mushroom cultivation, medicinal uses, and the ever popular cooking demonstration with exotic mushrooms. Take a peek through a microscope and see a slime mold or what a mushroom spore really looks like.
Enjoy a short outdoor mushroom walk with one of our experts. An indoor Children’s Corner will have fungi-related activities for younger attendees.
