Alex Sherman has been a media and technology reporter for CNBC for three years after nearly a decade as a reporter at Bloomberg. He regularly appears on CNBC and writes for CNBC.com. His main focus is the cross-section between media and technology, including streaming video services, the slow decline of cable television, TikTok, online gambling and digital media. He is originally from Lexington, Massachusetts and graduated from Havard in 2004 before getting his masters in journalism at Northwestern in 2007 and later his MBA at NYU Stern at night while working at Bloomberg in 2014. He moved to Princeton in 2017 with his wife, Meredith. They have three kids — Caleb, 7, who attends Littlebrook Elementary School in the first grade; Luca, 4, who is in pre-school, and their most recent addition, Colin, who was born in May.
