Chef David Burke’s popular Union Beach Italian-American hotspot will get its sea legs on June 9, when the inaugural “THE GOAT Boat“ Supper Club Cruise sets sail from the Atlantic Highlands Marina at 6 p.m. Hosted by Burke aboard Monmouth County-based charterer Teal Cruises’ 85-foot Festiva, THE GOAT Boat Supper Club will afford cruisers the opportunity to savor a sumptuous three-course dinner, featuring such Burke signatures as Clothesline Bacon, Popovers and Cake Pop Tree, while exploring the waters and shoreline of Sandy Hook Bay during the three-hour outing.
The dinner cruise priced at $150 per person, featuring Burke onboard throughout and dancing, will begin with a choice of a welcome aboard glass of Champagne or wine. Dinner will start with another choice between the bacon glistening in its black pepper maple glaze or Watermelon & Asparagus Salad, topped by burrata. For the main course, accompanied by the popovers, cruisers will decide between Braised Short Ribs or Grilled Fish with pasta and green beans. Before docking, the meal will end on a sweet high note with either the cake pop tree crowned by cotton candy or the Key Lime Pie Martha Stewart declared the best she’s ever had, both from Dixie Lee Bakery by David Burke.
The June 9 sailing will be the first of several THE GOAT Boat Supper Club cruises Burke and Teal Cruises’ Rich Moore are planning for the summer season. Each with a different menu or theme, perhaps even a “surf-n’-turf” one which will present appetizers on the Goat Boat, while the remainder of the meal will be served at THE GOAT by David Burke.
“I love being out on the water but had never done boat-based dinner event. So, when Rich approached me with idea, I was intrigued, especially when we decided to christen his motor yacht the GOAT Boat for the occasion,” said Burke.
